Two recent studies have concluded that the intraperitonel hyperthermic procedure (closed technique) has acceptable (read: same as other alternatives)  toxicity and procedure related morbidity (PRM). This will be published in Ann Surg Oncol. 2007 Jun 9.

This is important, as casual nay-sayers about the procedure cite toxicity and PRM as the primary reasons to avoid HIPEC (IPHC).  It's worth noting that the people who actually do the IPHC procedure have pretty much always know better, but it's one thing to know something, another to prove it.  Here's ample proof.
